Victory Heights Playground
Victory Heights is quite lovely - a little glen with a field tucked away in a quaint and walkable neighborhood. It contains a tennis court in excellent condition and also a pre-school. This isn't the coolest playground I've been to in terms of the equipment. It is nonetheless passable with all the basics - swings, merry-go-round, sandbox, basketball half-court, and a small wooden (Natural Structures) play gym .
What Victory Heights lacks in modern gear it makes up for in charm. Almost all of the parents here seem to actively play with their kids, and share an unspoken rule to watch out for all. Its a social environment that has a relaxing energy and seems well-loved.
In terms of safety, it has an 8-foot embankment running along the play field, which is hugged by a very quiet road... plenty safe, even for play near dusk. I'd caution anyone with a toddler about the short wall between the structure and sandbox, its a doozie for those who can't jump and they could easily tumble off the edge.
