It has been confirmed, we are definitely having a baby. We knew this already from the months of morning sickness, the infinitely swelling belly, and hearing the sound of the heartbeat returned by the sonic monitor. However, there is nothing like seeing a little heart pumping or little hands and feet moving to put it all into reality.

The good news is that sprout (as we like to call her) is healthy and normal. The bad news is that we wanted to know the gender and they couldn't definitively confirm the sex because the cord was blocking the genitals. Both the doctor and the radiologist suspected that it is a girl. We don't believe them. However, we have felt from the first moment that we would be having a girl, so there lieth our bets.

No matter which gender the child turns out, we are planning for a gender neutral wardrobe. The toys and artifacts from gracious friends and relatives have already begun floating in. In the coming months, I'll post a list of things we really need so that anyone who wants to do something for the kid will have something to go by. No obligations, but we figured it is better to be open about it.
